If you follow a beauty blogger or two, you may have heard about Urban Decay over the past weekend. Evidently, they're getting rid of all of their lipsticks.
I know I was stalking Snapchat and Instagram for updates of the International Blogger Launch in New York with Ruby Rose. First off, Ruby is a total babe. UD really choose an excellent representative who makes sense when it comes to vivacity, eccentricity and overall loveliness. Secondly, the Vice Lipstick is a new formula that will make its appearance on June 5th and will replace all existing Urban Decay lipsticks. There will be a total of one hundred and twenty (120) shades, with each retailer selling 100 of them.
These new lipsticks come in six (6) finishes. My favorite, comfort matte, is the creamiest matte. It feels so luxurious and comfortable on the lips, while being long-lasting and highly pigmented. Mega matte is an extremely intense drier matte. Cream is the original, referred to as "creamy, badass luxury." Now metallized is a cream with a "high level of pearl" or what I like to call sparkly. Sheer has a "punch of color with a shiny sheer finish." The pigmentation is truly The sheer shimmer is "slightly transparent with floating pearl and a smooth texture."
Each of these lipsticks will retail for $17 at Sephora, Ulta and select Macy's stores. The incredible thing about these lipsticks is how pigmented all of the finishes are. You'll see my swatches down below, but I swiped each of the lipsticks once or twice to get that finish. Really impressive.
The packaging is iconic and gorgeous. It fits the cost of the lipstick and would be a beautiful lipstick to pull out in the restaurant bathroom. Beautiful bold colors, high pigmentation, multiple finishes means there is something for everyone. The lipstick formula has aloe vera, jojoba, avocado and babassu oils which are going to nourish and soften your lips while wearing them. These also have illipe butter which provides the long-lasting moisture which I know I always hope for in a lip product, but rarely find. I will admit the formulas I've tried have all felt comfortable on my lips, even mega matte which is the driest. Lastly, I'll say I really love how the colors are listed and shown at the bottom of the lipstick so you don't have to open each lipstick to see which color it is, like a lot of other high end lipsticks (**coughMACcough**) Makes it so easy to quickly find your fave.
Wende, Chief Creative Officer, has her top 10 picks from this new collection and I was lucky enough to receive those 10 + the matching lip liners. I wanted to share the swatches from each of these lipsticks, so have a peek!

There will be fifty (50) lip liners. If you want to make sure the lipstick lasts as long as possible (we're talking hours people) you must find the matching lip liner to line and prime your lips. It's the perfect duo and makes a significant difference. I've always been a fan of the UD lip liners, but they are better than ever.
