Why I Like Being Busy

Keeping the Hustle & Bustle Going

Many of us are running around with 348785758 responsibilities (kids, job, significant other's job, family, friends, bills, and the list goes on and on.) However, I am one of those people who truly enjoys staying busy. Call me crazy, but I like going from one place to the next and getting shit done. I used to add things I had done to my to-do list just so I could cross them off. I'm that person. I like to cross it off the list. There is nothing more satisfying to me. Tell me I'm not the only one here! Why do I like to stay busy? Let me tell you!

It gets my mind off other things.

This seems like a no brainer but honestly staying busy keeps me focused, and helps fight off negativity, depression and (for the most part) anxiety. I've found that making myself useful and doing multiple things really helps my mind problem solve and get to my end goal as quickly as I can. When we have drama going on in our lives to any degree, I always recommend staying busy. Over time, the drama will mellow out and your life will settle back down.

I like what I do.

This is the key for me. If I hated what I did, whether that was in my day job or my blog, it would be miserable to keep going. However I love everything I do, and I don't mind any of the tasks. The trick is to keep the momentum going throughout the year. Of course, take vacations and days off, but for me working is a joy and makes me happy, so it's a win win. If you don't like what you do, evaluate why it is. If it's a bad boss (most of the time that's the problem) do not let that one person ruins your experience and your happiness each day.

I love being productive.

In several instances, I've told friends and family that I feel like I'm wasting time if I'm not doing something - whether that something is for my blog, my day job, my Instagram, or just for an archive of content, I always feel like I need to be doing something that will benefit me in the long run.

I find my creative side

When I am working on my blog, my YouTube channel and even my social media content, I am always challenged. There's so many incredible content creators out there, and I always find so much inspiration that gets me outside my bubble. I find my creativity, and passion is lit up by the challenge of creating beautiful content.

 My time is valuable.

The goal is to get more efficient with my time so I'm making more money in an hour based on the various projects I'm touching at any given moment in the day. I want to feel better about time spent, and do better with my time.

Sweet relief

When you've accomplished and completed large projects, finished the to-do list, even gone above and beyond, everything just feels so good. You feel satisfied, accomplished and happy with yourself. I will also venture to say that being productive helps to increase your mood, i.e. you will feel happier as you know things down and get shit done!

Others notice

When you're passionate, get shit done and go above and beyond, people around you notice. Your boss, your colleagues, brands, etc. Whatever industry you're in, people will notice you knocking down targets left and right. Never do something to get other people's attention, that's not what I mean by bringing this up. However, in some instances when others notice, more opportunities come your way because you've demonstrated your value to your boss, brands, the industry, etc.
