I wear eye makeup daily, and one of my least favorite things is taking it off at the end of the day.
Seriously…least favorite part because it takes forever to get that shit off! I’m over here about to rip my eyelids off and aging my under eye area trying to remove that tough mascara and waterproof eyeliner (complete nightmare!) Now that you’ve read my post on how I work with brands, you know that I tend to reach out to like-minded brands to see how we can work together.
Several weeks ago, I reached out to We Love Eyes as I saw their eye makeup removing products on Instagram. This product is vegan, natural and there are no toxic ingredients. Another fun fact is that this formula is made of tea tree oil, which is a bonus in my opinion. If you follow my snaps (username is just ‘Adaleta’) you’ll have seen me do a live demo of this just last night.
Here’s my process: I first take the oil and apply about 5-10 drops on a clean cotton pad. I try to spread the product into a good sized circle so the oil isn’t just in a tiny little spot on the pad but rather spread out. This will help with removing a larger circumference of eye makeup rather than slowly removing centimeter by centimeter. Next I press the cotton pad to the eye. This is the part I normally have a really hard time with because I want to rip off my eyelid and just remove the product, but I’ve found that using this oil means you really don’t need to tug or be overly aggressive. Just place the cotton pad on your entire lid (obviously eyes closed) and hold the pad in place for ten (10) seconds. Then slowly apply some left to right pressure to get the product off. And repeat for the other eye until you are mascara and liner-less! Waalahh!
The second part of this process is going in with the foaming cleaner (I use three pumps) and spreading that in the eye area to get the remnants of that makeup completely off. After I’m done cleansing, I wash the foam off and the eye area feels nice, cleansed and soft. The huge selling point for me is that this product doesn’t make my eyes burn and it doesn’t make my eyes get blurry if the product gets in them. I love my Boscia and Garnier cleansing oils, but they burn my eyes if even a drop gets in them and they make me dizzy and my vision is blurry after I open my eyes. I don’t have those issues with this which makes me enjoy the effectiveness and gentleness of this particular dynamic duo. Although I received these products as a sample, I am not obligated in any way to speak fondly of them and you should know by now that my reviews are always honest and my own opinion. I’ll tell you when I don’t care for something (as I have in the past i.e. despicable brushes, crap lipsticks, etc.)
If you want to try either of these products, I was kindly given a discount code for you! ‘adaatude’ will get you 10% off and if you’re anything like me, you definitely appreciate the fact that every little bit of savings helps!
