Conditioning my Hair to Make it Healthy Again
Moisturizing my Dry Hair
This post is sponsored by and in collaboration with Mirum for Nexxus, but all opinions expressed are my own.
When it comes to hair, I will admit that I don't always focus my beauty efforts on it. This is because after doing a full face of makeup, I'm tapped out. However, when it comes down to it, I am a big fan of high quality shampoo and conditioner, because well first of all, I like nice things (hahaha!) Second of all, I want my hair to be healthy and I'm willing to try all kinds of hair lines to ensure my hair gets the best care it needs, especially when it comes to moisture, shine and overall health.
In case you haven't heard of Nexxus, the brand was started by a salon in New York City in the heart of Tribeca. It's sold in several large retailers, which is amazing because it was a line created by a hair salon. The awesome thing is that Costco is now stocking the gigantic size of both the shampoo and conditioner, which is an amazing bundle deal. While I don't have the time and money to go to a nice salon every single week, I can take the salon quality products to my house without spending a fortune. There are 25 Costco locations where this bundle will be available. You can check this list of locations to see if there's an option close to you! CostCo Store List
Side note: In the photo below, I was celebrating 5 years of blogging. A post specific to all the things I've learned in 5 years of blogging is coming soon, but take note of the healthy shine of my hair. This is after just a few days of using this Nexxus duo.
Nexxus Therappe Shampoo Therappe
This shampoo helps restore and maintain moisture, which is one of the main reasons hair ends up being so soft. When the hair has enough moisture, it is soft, shiny and seems to have that vivacity showing it's healthy. One of the cool things about this shampoo's formulation is the fact that Nexxus incorporated time-released lipids so the moisture doesn't go into the hair all at once. Too much moisture makes the hair look greasy, so this technology is absolutely brilliant. Rather it is spread out to ensure your hair remains shiny for as long as possible throughout the day. If you know me well, you know that I do not wash my hair every single day. Dry shampoo is my best friend. I've essentially trained my hair to look and feel as soft and moisturized as long as possible. With the use of this shampoo, I could tell the difference after just one wash.
This shampoo is fortified with Nexxuspheres which is "an advanced microsphere technology that provides the gradual release of strengthening ceramides, replenishing nutrients, antioxidants and UV protectors, giving hair sustained health, pliability and radiance."
Nexxus Humectress Conditioner
Now when it comes to the conditioner, the formulation uses NexxusSpheres technology, which delivers moisturizing lipids to each and every single strand of hair. This unique process preserves the vital moisture balance necessary for hair to be incredibly smooth. The gradual release of strengthening ceramides, replenishing nutrients, antioxidants and UV protectors, giving hair a healthy, radiance. I'll admit I don't always give my hair the conditioning love because I don't always find it the most beneficial. It seemed like an extra step before, but using this shampoo with the conditioner together, is the best way to get the full benefit of the moisture and shine.
Up above you can see a hair tutorial of me curling my hair, after the usage of this shampoo and conditioner. My hair was shiny, soft and so easy to work with when it came to styling.
One of my favorite elements when it comes to shampoo and conditioner is smell. If you know anything about me, you know that smell is ALWAYS a big deal to me. I love when my hair smells clean, and the smell isn't too overpowering. I don't think there's a better way to explain the scent that comes from this dynamic duo. Subtle, fresh and just beautiful.
In addition, the products need to be silicone free. Silicone is not healthy for the hair, and it's something I like to avoid at all costs. This way my hair is not being dried out with the chemical, especially for someone who has naturally drier hair and a dehydrated scalp.
After just one use, I saw an significant change in the shine and health of my hair. Now after using this duo for several weeks, my hair is significantly softer. It looks healthier, more fresh and the strength is overall better.
What's your favorite shampoo and conditioner duo?
In case you couldn't tell, I am obsessing over pink at the moment. The pink sweater trend has been one of my favorite trends this winter. While not everything I own can be pink, my mission has been to incorporate something pink in every single outfit. Absolutely loving that new new on Shopbop. With NYFW coming up, I feel that I definitely need to match my pink sweater obsession with the trouser obsession I keep seeing across the Internet. Not to mention my black bootie obsession, as of late. I don't think I've taken off my booties recently. What fashion pieces have you been eyeing lately?
