Why I Shop at Ulta Beauty
This post is in collaboration with and sponsored by Ulta Beauty, via InfluenceHer Collective. All thoughts are honest and my own.
Back when I started my blog in 2013, I was spending $400-$500 a month at Ulta Beauty. My goal was to get my hands on the latest beauty products first, so I could then share my opinion with my friends and the few people who read my blog. I found a lot of joy in testing out eyeshadow palettes, new foundations, the latest mascara and so forth. There was something exhilarating about being one of the first to give my opinion. When it comes to Ulta Beauty, this was my favorite store to shop and luckily, the same location has always been closest to me. Therefore, I've been to the Ulta down the street from me hundreds (if not thousands) of times.
One of the best things about Ulta is that it's a one-stop beauty shop. Whether you need makeup, shampoo, a new blowdryer, a manicure...list goes on and on. It's All in One Place™! In case you don't know the numbers, Ulta has 20,000 products from over 500 well-established and emerging beauty brands across all categories and price points, including their own label. The reason I normally shop at Ulta over any other beauty store is because the rewards program is the best. For every purchase, you're getting points. Those points turn into legitimate cash which you can then use to purchase products. Rather than getting random products as your reward after $500 of purchases, you're getting cash back so you can buy more of the products you love (and need!) on a regular basis.
When I walked into the store recently, I knew I had my eyes on the newest Anastasia Soft Glam shadow palette. Every eyeshadow palette coming out from her (usually curated by Norvina) is so creamy, pigmented and just downright gorgeous. This palette was absolutely no exception. Not to mention the colors are a nice mix of pinks and browns. In case you don't know by now, I am a total warm neutral kind of girl when it comes to eyeshadow. I love warmer nude colors, browns and deeper pinks. My favorite! As soon as I applied the shadow, I knew it wasn't going anywhere. It's long-lasting, easy to blend into the crease and with the color payoff, you only really need a light coating on your eyeshadow brush.
One of the products I shop for the least is soap, or a body bar. The reasoning is because they last for so long! During my recent trip to Ulta Beauty, I grabbed a couple energizing wild mint treatment body bars, because I absolutely love the refreshing scent. It's definitely energizing and puts that extra pip in my step. Between the red clay, shea butter, energizing mint and the charcoal, there are so many options depending on your preference. All of the body bars are very moisturizing, making them one of the best things to get the smooth and soft skin.
