Pool Day Essentials
It's officially summer, which means there's pool days and beach days in our future. At the end of May, we went to my future MIL's house, and enjoyed the pool a bit. The water was chilly, but in 105 degree the chill of the water is a very welcoming feeling. Anyone else live in a really hot place? The desert is sweltering home, and it's hard to get away from the heat.
Sun protecting is the most important thing to wear, especially if you're heading to the beach or pool. I'm all about about protecting against the sun because I do not want the sun damage. Premature aging, broken blood vessels, dark spots, etc are not my thing. This is why I have different options for different parts of the body. Face sunscreen from Alastin, body sunscreen from Coola and a little under eye protection from Supergoop. All the formulations are different.
A hat is the best way to protect as much of the face and neck, as possible. Most days I don't remember to rock a hat, but at the pool when I won't be moving too too much, I do love to rock a hat for some protection. While sunglasses protect from the sun, I always find them super helpful in 1. not giving me a headache but also 2. not requiring me to squint my eyes.
Something that seems to inevitable occasionally when it comes to shaving is ingrown hairs, redness and bumps. These body exfoliating pads help to ease the appearance of those so I try to apply 1-2 days before going to the pool.
When it comes to days in the sun, I always find that my lips get so dry and it is so necessary to have a good lip product that moisturizes while also giving a nice pop of color.
