Reflecting on the Giveaways for #Adaclaus

December 30, 2019

What is #adaclaus? Glad you asked. It is an annual tradition that happens between December 1st and December 24th where I do a plethora of giveaways to give back to my amazing audience, over on Instagram. This was the 5th year we did this, which is crazy to think it's been going on for so long!

Historically I've only done a few giveaways ranging anywhere from 5-10, but this year I really wanted to go hard and decided to do 24 days of giveaways leading up to Christmas Eve. I was basically an advent calendar. You wake up everyday and there's a new giveaway posted anywhere from noon to 4-5 in the afternoon. I have to say that after posting every single day leading up to Christmas, picking winners from the day before (each giveaway was 24 hours only) I am exhausted. Not to mention Haley and my manager were also starting to feel it too because there was a lot of coordination, and a lot of emails going back and forth. I feel like we were all running on empty when it came to Instagram, especially after day 10 so it was nice to take a few days off and not post a single thing online. In this post, I'm giving you a breakdown of the giveaways, and why I selected them for Adaclaus this year. I'd love to hear your thoughts about the month of December, so please let me know in the comments! *There will be more giveaways in 2020, don't you worry!

December 1st

Erin Condren provided two $100 gift cards for two winners.

I usually stick to my google calendar, but I'm really excited to be utilizing this new planner in the new year. I must admit, it feels so good to write things down and check them off as I go! I loved giving two people some of the accessories and supplies they need to start the year off right!

December 2nd

Wander Beauty provided two $250 gift cards for two winners.

If you've been around for a while you know that Wander Beauty has been one of my favorite brands for a long time. They are super unique because they have both makeup and skincare. I often reach for the wandress fever palette, because it's packed with pigment and has a combination of eyeshadow, blush, and highlighter. The winners of this giveaway shared their product picks with me, and were over the moon about all of the new skincare and makeup.

December 3rd

Steve Madden provided two $250 gift cards for two winners.

This giveaway was every shoe lover's dream, and was one of your favorite giveaways! I teamed up with one of my long-time favorite brands, Steve Madden, to give two people $250 worth of new shoes. The winners were able to pick out a new shoe collection just in time for the holidays and new year.

December 4th

Breville provided three people with their choice of an appliance.

This was by far the biggest giveaway I've ever done individually. I teamed up with Breville to give three lucky winners the appliance of their choice making this one of the most epic giveaways, ever. I have the Creatista and the Air Fryer, and I love them both. I use the coffee machine on a daily basis and the air fryer to make some of my favorite snacks and appetizers. Two of the winners selected the Creatista, and the other winner selected the Air Fryer. These appliances have been game-changers for me and I'm so excited for these winners.

December 5th

I teamed up with some of my favorites to give away three Barefoot Dreams blankets.

I'm sure by now you've heard everyone talking about the Barefoot Dreams blankets. The leopard print blanket made its appearance on an episode of Keeping Up With The Kardashian's, and it's been a hot commodity since. The price tag is pretty pricey for a blanket, but it's so worth it. The blanket feels like melted butter on your skin so it's no wonder you guys loved this giveaway.

December 6th

Caraway Home provided one lucky winner with a new cookware set valued at $395.

You guys know how hard I've been working to transition over to toxic-free products. It's definitely a task because there are toxins everywhere it seems like. From beauty and skincare to household cleaning products and cookware, I've been making some serious changes. I came across Caraway Home and was really happy to find a brand of worry-free cookware. The set came with an organizer for all of the lids which makes organizing so easy. You can use discount code ada25 at checkout to save some $$!

December 7th

Studio NYC 33 provided two $250 gift cards for two winners.

Studio33 NYC is one of my favorite brands for classy, attainable and quality handbags. I wrote a blog post here about why I love the brand and was so excited to partner with them for this giveaway. They were very generous to give two people $250 to shop their website, so they could snag a few new handbags. If you haven’t checked them out yet, be sure to head over to their website and see how they keep up with the latest trends while creating attainable and sustainable accessories.

December 8th

I teamed up with some of my favorites to give away 12 pairs of Spanx faux leather leggings.

The Spanx faux leather leggings are pretty much a staple piece in my closet now, and if they aren’t in yours I do highly recommend them. I snagged a pair during the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale and I’ve been reaching for them since. I was so excited to pair up with some of my favorites again to give away 12 pairs!

December 9th

Gorjana provided two $150 gift cards for two winners.

This is another one of my long-time favorite brands, and they have some of the cutest pieces. Their jewelry is the perfect combination of dainty and statement, and I treasure my pieces from Gorjana. I live in their pieces because they’re so easy to layer and I love the multiple looks you can make with these classic pieces!

December 10th

Butcher Box provided two 3-month subscriptions for two winners.

Okay you guys already know, Butcher Box is so my jam. I love good meat and Butcher Box delivers that straight to my door, so yeah, what’s not to love? I’ve been talking about them all year long, and several of you have jumped on board and love it just as much as I do. This giveaway was a total hit and I was so happy to see so many husbands entering.

December 11th

Dr. Dennis Gross provided 3-months of peel pads and $150 to shop at Sephora for two winners.

I worked with my absolute favorite brands for Adaclaus, so obviously Dr. Dennis Gross was apart of it. When I met Dr. Dennis Gross during NYFW I fangirled so hard. I genuinely love their products and see amazing results. Their peel pads are a product I use daily, so I wanted to partner with the brand to give two people the opportunity to try the peel pads out themselves.

December 12th

Kirstin Ash provided two $250 gift cards for two winners.

This was a great giveaway for my jewelry lovers because these fine jewelry pieces are keepsakes for sure. Kristen Ash is another one of my favorite jewelry brands because their pieces are sure to turn heads and can even be personalized.

December 13th

Friday December 13th is typically a scary day to many, but this was an exciting day for those who were tuning into Adaclaus. I announced the golden ticket giveaway, where I shared how I’d be sending my holiday card to one lucky winner and they’d win an entire box of beauty and lifestyle goodies. Included were pieces from Monica Vinader, Gorjana, Wander Beauty and Sequin Jewelry. We ended up sending the golden ticket box and selecting seven local winners to gift them with some beauty goodies, too. Everyone was so excited to find a stocking or package in their mailbox!

December 14th

Renpure provided a year worth of hair products for five people.

This is another brand that I came across when looking into toxic-free hair products. We reached out to Renpure to see if they would be interested in gifting five lucky winners with a year’s supply of hair products so more people could see the difference of toxic-free and cruelty-free products. Come see why I love Renpure in this IGTV video!

December 15th

I partnered with two of my friends, @kelseystacypearson and @heathermyriahpearson to give three people $150 to donate to the charity of their choosing.

I was really excited about this giveaway because the holidays are all about giving back and supporting the causes that mean the most to you. The three of us teamed up to support YOU so you could give back to whatever cause your heart desired. This was a great giveaway in the midst of Adaclaus, because it really reminded us of all that we have to be grateful for.

December 16th

Sequin Jewelry provided two $250 gift cards for two winners.

As many of you probably remember, this year I teamed up with Sequin Jewelry to design a necklace. I’ve admired this brand for several years, so this was an absolute dream. I created a three-layer necklace with three of my favorite charms that represent all that I aspired to have in my life this year. I was so happy with all of the entries for this giveaway, and the two winners were really excited to select their pieces from Sequin Jewelry!

December 17th

I gave five people three candles from Bath & Body Works.

Three-wick candles are a major hit, who knew?! You guys went crazy over this giveaway, and I had so many people messaging me about how excited they would be to win this giveaway. I will say packaging these up to send out was difficult. We wanted to be extra careful so they wouldn’t break, because we did receive one broken candle. We used a lot of tape, wrapping paper, and inserts to make sure they arrived perfectly, and by the looks of some of the stories I’ve been tagged in, it worked!

December 18th

Kut From The Kloth provided two $250 gift cards for two winners.

KFTK is one of my favorite denim brands and I’ve recently explored their coats, sweaters, and tops. The quality is unmatchable, and the price point is unbeatable. Their new styles have been slaying the game, and I was excited to give two winners the opportunity to score some new goodies for the holidays. If you haven’t shopped their pieces yet, they’re available online and at Nordstrom. Their denim is my favorite!

December 19th

Tamara Mellon provided a pair of shoes for two winners.

I attended the Tamara Mellon pop up earlier this season, and fell in love with the stunning shoes. This brand is dedicated to designing shoes and breaking rules, and they’ve got the perfect pair of shoes for any occasion. I went for the tan booties and they are so comfortable and can be paired with so many different outfits. One of the winners shared she selected the same pair, so we’re twinning! How cool is that?

December 20th

Calpak provided a travel set for one winner.

Who’s looking to travel more in 2020? I’m already planning some trips, which has me so excited, but the getting there is usually the part that I dread the post. Between the packing and traveling throughout the airport, it can be chaotic. I love to travel in style, but honestly, I just like to be comfortable. I teamed up with Calpak to give one lucky winner luggage, a silk travel set, slippers, and packing cubes. These are some of my favorite travel accessories and make the perfect gift. This was a total hit and I’m so excited one of you can travel in style in 2020!

December 21st

Hunt a Killer provided a premium box for two winners.

This one was for my crime junkies and mystery lovers! Hunt a Killer is a subscription box that allows you to whip out your detective skills and immerse yourself in the hand-crafted clues. This is such a fun game to play, and keeps you at the edge of your seat while you sip on the killer cocktails. I’m so excited for two of you to try this game out and tell me what you think.

December 22nd

Bite Beauty provided five winners 10 lip crayons and a gloss.

The lip crayons from Bite Beauty are so bomb, and they’re sure to last the entire day! These are another clean beauty product, plus they’re cruelty-free and free from gluten. This was another fun giveaway and I loved that five of you were able to get your hands on these products.

December 23rd

Colourpop provided five $100 gift cards for five winners.

For this giveaway, I teamed up with colourpop to give five people $100 to shop their hearts out. Colourpop cosmetics are truly so pigmented and long-lasting, and I was so pumped about this giveaway. This was a major hit with you guys, too, and I’m sure the winners are loving all of their goodies!

December 24th

On the final day of Adaclaus, I gave a few winners a fragrance of their choice from Jo Malone. Jo Malone makes the most incredible fragrances and I could seriously smell them all day long. I have a few favorites, but with their huge variety, I'm always finding new favorites. I'd love to know if you've tried the fragrance before, and which is your favorite, so be sure to let me know below!

This year's Adaclaus tradition was bigger and better than ever before, and we had over 70 winners in total. It was a lot of work, and somewhat difficult to put our phones down at some points (first world problems I know, I know). Each day we had to select the winners, make sure they followed the rules, reach out to them, contact the brand with their shipping information or emails for the gift cards, all while writing out the caption and editing the photo for the next giveaway. This was definitely an extra load this holiday season, but you have given us so much support this year and we wanted to end the year with a bang to give back and say thank you. While there were some nasty messages throughout this process, and people threatening to unfollow me if they didn't win, there were so many people who were incredibly grateful and for that, I would do it all over again! We learned a lot along the way and will be making some changes next year, but we'd love to hear your thoughts on Adaclaus this year.

Which giveaway was your favorite? Which brands would you like to see in 2020?
