Tips and Tricks for this Spring

Heading out for spring break soon? I've got the perfect list of beauty tips to keep you looking your best no matter if you're heading to the beach or the city! Every year in March, there is a frenzy of students getting jazzed up to go to warm, island-like destinations to welcome spring and summer. This tradition became a "thing" once schools starting letting kids out for a spring holiday. A week off? Why not go to Mexico? San Diego? Something about an island getaway screams spring break to a majority of us, but hey, not all of us want to get in a bikini on the water. I know I would love to spend spring break in New York City. No matter where you plan to go, my top four beauty tips will get you ready for time in warmer weather. The majority of photos in this post were taken by Julia O Test.

Bright nails

One of the best things about spring break beauty is a fun bright nail polish. My favorite color is Haute in the Heat from Essie. More subtle colors are available if you don't want to be quite so bright, but I think it's so cheerful and fun. One of my favorite parts of the CVS beauty section is the Essie nail polish display because it's got so many options. There's definitely a shade for you!

The other thing I've noticed about Essie in particular is the fact that their polishes last longer than the average polish and the brushes are so much easier to apply perfectly to the nail. I have tried them all, and I've been focusing more on normal polish the past few months because gel ruined my nails. I wanted to be free of the salon, and I wanted to change the color up more often. Spring break is time to shine those bright colors, and I am not holding back this season!

Moisturized lips

Not only are these the creamiest, most moisturizing lipsticks, they also have great wear throughout the day. They give full coverage and have 18 fun shades. These are made with 100% natural ingredients like moringa and raspberry seed oils which are the reason these lipsticks are so moisturizing. Not to mention they moisturize for up to 8 hours, so you're getting the benefit of a legitimate lip balm (or chapstick for my chapstick lovers - looking at you Kelly!) in the form of a gorgeous lipstick.

Healthy hair

The Beauty & Planet Ylang Ylang conditioner was a brand new product I was introduced to just a few months ago. Because my hair needs a little extra TLC before and after any trip, I am a fan of a great conditioner to bring my hair back to life. This conditioner is phthalate-free, paraben-free, vegan and plant-based. Not only is it extremely moisturizing, it is good for you. Given it doesn't have any bad ingredients, it is going to ensure your hair doesn't get dried out and turns out shinier and smoother. If I spend too much time in chlorinated pools, the ocean or dry airplane air, my hair definitely looks a bit tattered after all the fun. This is why I like taking a conditioner that can heal the hair while I'm exposing it to so many environmental toxins.

Glowing skin

When it comes to spring time, I always want to add a little glow to my complexion. With these new L'Oreal Lumi Glamour Drops, you add a bit of highlighting pigment which helps to illuminate the skin creating a healthy glow. I don't look greasy or oily with this product, which is so important to me when using glow enhancing products. Some have made me look like a disco ball, because I already tend to have oilier skin than most. This is how I know I found a winner with L'Oreal.
