Testing all the Consumer Choice Awards Fragrances

The Best Fragrances in the Game

May 30, 2018

I've always been a lover of good fragrances. I mean, I'm European after all and if you know anything about a European, we prefer a good fragrance over 3 showers a day.

This post is in collaboration with and sponsored by The Fragrance Foundation.

The Fragrance Foundation is a non-profit representing the fragrance industry; their mission is to inspire the world to discover the artistry and passion of fragrance. At the moment, they have opened up a vote to see which of the fragrances in The Consumer Choice Awards is your favorite. You can head to the site to cast your vote now!

If you're not familiar with some of the options, I took the liberty of reviewing each fragrance to give you a better idea of what their compilations are and how beautiful they smell. Because I tested all of these fragrances, I may not be able to smell anything for the next few days (HAH!) Let's dive into the new additions to my fragrance collection!

Curve for Men - Revlon

This is one of the fruitier and fresher scents when it comes to men's fragrance. Lots of top notes including pineapple, juniper berries, lavender, neroli and lemon. I can really smell the lavender and pineapples when it comes to this fragrance, which is so refreshing and perfect for the spring and summer time. Not to mention it's very fresh, with middle notes of coriander, ginger, violet, cactus, sage, bergamot, and cardamom. Base notes always make or break the fragrance for me, and the sandalwood, amber, musk, vetiver, cedar, mahogany and pepper make this fragrance so incredibly balanced, you'll want to spray this everywhere. I'm a huge fan of amber and sandalwood, not to mention I love a good musky scent.

Trésor - Lancôme

First off, this bottle is perfect for beautifying an entire bathroom. The intricate detailing makes it so pretty, and reminiscent of your mom's perfume collection. When it comes to a long-lasting perfume, this is the one I opt for because there is a gorgeous aroma to it many hours after application. Top notes including bergamot and peach, with middle notes of rose and freesia and the base notes of sandalwood and patchouli. Pretty much all of my favorite smelling things in one gorgeous bottle. Between the rose, sandalwood, peach, and freesia, I am at capacity for amazing smells.

Philosophy Amazing Grace - philosophy - Coty, Inc.

This is a perfume I've been using for years; it's very fresh and very light. The top notes including mandarin orange, grapefruit and bergamot; middle notes including freesia, jasmine and rose, with a base note of musk. This is a simple concoction, but it's just so incredibly beautiful.

Carolina Herrera Good Girl - Puig

....I don't know if I can say much about this fragrance. I mean look at this bottle! This is the coolest and most creative bottle design I've ever seen. This fragrance is all about duality - combining femininity and sensuality, timeliness elegance and hopeless Romanticisim but also fearless independence. If I was a perfume bottle, this is the one I would be. I aim to be as classy as possible, but I am independent and I don't mind that I am.

Fragrance Hall of Fame from The Fragrance Foundation Awards

Katy Perry's Indi - Coty, Inc.

When it comes to white tea, you all know that is my jam. This fragrance features top notes of white tea, plum and bergamot with middle notes of cyclamen, lily of the valley and whit cedar extract. When it comes to the base notes, we're talking amber, tonka bean, musk, white musk, black musk, Egyptian musk and island musk. If there's two things I love combining, it's musk and white tea. As you can imagine, I've been bathing myself in this wonderful scent.

Victoria's Secret Love - Victoria's Secret

When I think of putting on a perfume, and taking on the world girl boss style, this is the perfume I would reach for in a heartbeat. It's got a unique fresh scent that's well balanced with floral notes. It's not sickly sweet, like you imagine fruity smells can be.

Coach for Men - Interparfums

This is quite an energetic fragrance, with top notes of nashi pear, bergamot and kumquat. The heart notes including cardamom, coriander and geranium make this not only a unique men's fragrance, but very vibrant and commendable. This is a fierce fragrance that would make me turn my head to see who was rocking it.

Hugo Boss, Boss Bottled Tonic - Coty, Inc.

This is probably one of the most popular men's fragrances I've seen and heard about over the past year. It seems this is the ideal gift for dad, boyfriend, husband, uncle, and so forth. Featuring grapefruit, bitter orange, lemon and apple, which make this a zingy combination of amazing scents. The signature woody base gives this fragrance a lot more depth and complexity, so when it hits your senses, you don't know which piece of the formulation you're experiencing first.

Prada Luna Rossa Carbon - Puig

When it comes to this gorgeous bottle, the fragrance helps bring together botanicals and synthetics into the mix. The top notes are bergamot and pepper; middle notes of lavender (one of my fave ingredients for men's fragrance!), soil tincture, watery notes, metallic notes and coal. With the base notes being patchouli and ambroxan, this is definitely a fantastic conglomeration of impeccable scents.

These are not all the fragrances in the Consumer Choice Awards - these are the ones I've had a chance to experience and add to my perfume collection. There's several more than are up for vote, so make sure to head to The Fragrance Foundation's site to vote!
